No Religion!
The priest needed someone
To watch over his flock.
“Time off work” was what the doctor ordered.
But he feared a tyrant would stomp over his parish.
The answer was clear:
He would invoke the 1st Amendment
And affirm freedom of religion.
I got lucky and doubled up on the vowel on #2 which gave me the last letter. Wordle likes to use the sane letter twice, especially vowrls(c. MOTTO)

The entire family did flock
to watch the couple get married on the dock.
The father invoked a well-deserved perk
and on the day of the wedding took off work.
After they all did the wedding watch
their family-closeness went up a notch.
Now everyone is ready to affirm
this lovely relationship for the long term.

OMK- maybe this Canadian should not have invoked your 1st Amendment LOL. I was thinking of freedom of religion in the sense that the tyrant should not run roughshod over the beliefs of the flock while the priest was away. But I see your point that the priest needed a break (freedom) from religion.
