It's the same strategy I use; I don't imagine there's another way to do it.
Hints tend to work consciously and unconsciously. Brains are funny that way.

Alpha and Omega was their lot
the day they entered that yacht.
They were greeted by a notary
who was hired their judge to be
on the answer they were inquiring:
was their marriage ready for wiring.
He gave them his blessing that day
and sent them on their "marry" way.

I had no luck, zero, nil, on my usual first try,
so my new try used both vowels (incl โyโ) & cons not in my opener.
It had to strike gold, so naturally did!
As my hint, I left a variation of yesterdayโs.

OMK- your Spoonerism title is wonderful. I tried for a Spoonerism using the Wordle in my title, but it is very weak to say the least!
And I could not produce any rhymes today.
Plus great work on your Wordle solve without a hint. Sometimes your first guess can make or break the solve.
Misty- what a beautiful wedding setting for your couple. I hope their โwiringโ doesnโt tether them excessively.

Ah, CEh! Buศ you did get a rhyme--in your title!
True Spoonerisms are rare critters. Even mine today is off a bit--because of the added "t," ending "Mate."
A real Spooner could only be "May."
That wouldn't make any sense, of course--unless the speaker was addressing someone with that name!
But, then, personal names are usually a cop-out. Readers know that intuitively.

Great to start the day with all those delightful Wordle's from Wilbur and Ol' Man Keith, and CanadianEh!--even made me want to give it a try.
And then lots of neat poetry all around. CanadianEh! I loved your giving Chet and Lois a dream of getting on a yacht for that trip to a tropical isle. That would be a lovely honeymoon coming true for them!
But let's just hope that their yacht won't end up in the dark, like OMK's yacht with the wiring having gone out. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Wilbur ~ I love reading about Lois' hopes for the honeymoon.
But I get a special kick outta their sense of Caribbean geography. If she plans to snorkel near Cuba, she'll have a hard time doing it way down in Aruba!
And then Charles chips in with his idea of helping them to a beach in "old Kingstown." If I'm not mistaken, that's over in the Grenadines, near Barbados. Perhaps he means Kingston, in Jamaica, which is at least a few hundred miles closer.
But maybe it's that they're all in the spirit of a Caribbean holiday! --where just about anywhere they lay their bodies can be a treat!
