Todayโs Jumble haiku:
(I am sure I made a full bakersโ dozen,
but only 12 came out.
Ah, maybe I accidentally enclosed one muffin in angle brackets!
Next, I marched straight forward, but ended up โTo the Rearโ!โฆ)
โLeft (Right) Left!โ
โTwas a bitter fluke:
I baked all thirteen muffins,
but just twelve spelled out!

To find todayโs Wordle, weโd make a start
by looking at the chest of an anatomical chart.
Right in the middle (if itโs accurate art,
just slightly to the left), weโll be sure to find the โโฆ.. .โ

I had a great start and got to the centre of the matter quickly.

Dwelt (where it) Felt Like (Ice)
โThere once was a puffin
Just the shape of a muffinโ.*
Not a whale without flukes,
Just some colourful toques.
In a bitter cold spell,
He could manage quite well,
For they warmed (not in part),
But right down to his heart.

OMK- what a tangled web you weave today wit( those muffins! And your reference back to last night with the angle brackets causing my name to disappear. Really, I think someone ate that 13th muffin (are those pups looking guilty?).
I must confess that I enjoyed creating my little ditty today. Childrenโs books can be very funny, and I was inspired by seeing in my Google search many examples using the rhyme of muffin/puffin.
"Prize Winner"
Flo's winning the contest was a fluke
which surprised her and did her spook.
But she managed the last word to spell,
and so the contest ended well.
She now was no longer bitter
and quit her job as a baby-sitter.
She baked a muffin for her beau,
and they went to watch a show.
She had never felt so well,
as if living in a magic spell.
Thank you, thank you, Ol' Man Keith, you helped me get today's Wordle:

You deserve a wonderful day for this gift!
CanadianEh! ~ Childrenโs lit, I confess, leaves me scratching my head. Trying to imagine a whale without flukes is to plant an eel on her bottom.
When I read age-appropriate tales to my elder son, it was all about seagulls. When the younger came along, I switched to traditional lore, stories of knighthood and comradely songs.
โChevaliers de la table ronde, etc.!โ
Still, I gotta kick outta your poem, somehow conferring on toques the ability to warm their wearersโ hearts! Chefs had better learn about these!
Your title shows real cleverness. I despaired at first, thinking it impossible to Spoonerize two nouns with the same first letter. But then, I saw how that word could be Spoonered within itself!

Misty ~ Again, you are welcome to hints when I can offer them.
On some days you might see no hint from me. It would be good then if you were to try your luck on the Wordleโand leave a hint for others.
Just like your Flo, you might find yourself surprised. Sure, it might be a fluke, but it would certainly be a happy one.
No need to bake a muffin. Youโd probably never feel so well!

Misty- wonderful that Flo won that spelling bee, and certainly no fluke. Perhaps she might not have had such a bitter babysitting experience if she had some lovely puffin poems to read to the children. Those must have been magic muffins to make he4 feel so well.
OMK- you made the American mistake of defining a toque as a chefโs hat. Here in the Great White North, a toque is a warm knitted winter cap (usually with a pompom on top. They can certainly help to warm you down to your heart.
And my title was the last part to be completed today. I despaired of doing anything with those two identical words. But some days, the muses inspire a thought.
CEh, your Canadian toque certainly makes sense when it comes to adjusting body heat upwards. But I wouldnโt exactly label mine an โAmerican mistake.โ A toque (or tuque) may be a knitted beanie (with pom-pom) up north, but it is defined in the US as a chefโs hat.
Indeed, in one on-line dictionary, a โwhite toqueโ is one way for Canadians to designate a chefโs hat.
I wonder what they call these things in France.

My goodness, lots of things to learn on this blog today. Thank you, everybody.
Ol' Man Keith, your verse was a delight, and I of course loved getting that sweet hint for the Wordle. I'll appreciate it any time you're willing to give it, and I'll see if I can follow your suggestion and do a Wordle from scratch some time and then offer a hint. I doubt it will work, but I might try it at least once.
CanadianEh!, (CE), I loved your muffin/puffin verse and looked up Florence Page Jacques, who wrote "There Once was a Puffin." I always love learning things on this blog, and today I looked up "spoonerism" too--something I'm sure I've looked up before but can never remember--or is it that I ran clever in December?
Fun blog, many thanks to both of you. And hope Wilbur checks in with us before too long.
