My Alohas in Dohas!
(And in triplets & quatrains too!)

To Misty, our hard working scribe,
whose poetic gift can’t be denied!
—and our pal called CanadianEh!
that Up-North-Gal let no one inveigh!
And for Wilbur & Owen
those Wordlers oft knowin’
enough to leave others great hints
along with their diagram prints,
I leave this holiday verse,
my admission that things can get worse.

Is there anything new to be said
when taking another day off?
All the usual jokes have been read
and hats to my readers been doffed.
All good will has been wished
and ponds have been fished
for valedictions to cry
“Aloha! — Goodbye!”

From now through Sunday,
till I see you on Monday —
“Farewell!”

I trust that peace,
that sweet surcease
(and, nowise, grease!),!
in your hearts may dwell!

The temperature's horrendous, it's a sauna!
On a list of hot spots, at the top: Arizona!
Will we, with a Kleenex,
Wipe up what's left of Phoenix?
Will this melted Nirvana cause much trauma?

One of yesterday’s J words (I might not have gotten it in four guesses otherwise).

Bike Ailing Eek!

We rode inland on our Harley,
Emblem on our topaz tee;
Nothing too skimpy in this heat,
Setting off the day to greet.

Then a sound rose like a choke,
A glance showed black engine smoke.
The gods we began to invoke,
Before we died of sunstroke.

Thanks OMK for the Sunday Aloha, and wishes for peace in our hearts. May your day be peaceful and restorative.

Owen- I was searching for the W in your poem, until I saw the first three letters and a Z in the second line. It took this Canadian a minute to remember the abbreviation for that state (and now I see that there is a canyon there with that W name). I love your jewels in the W diagram.
Many areas now seem to be getting that heat.

"Limp Love"

Iris lived far inland
but was still in fond demand.
I took just a single glance
for the tall handsome guy
to start up a romance.

But his personal life was skimpy
and his compliments were bland and wimpy.
He was a poor emblem for a beau
and so the love engine quickly went slow.

Iris decided her choices to spin
and the fellow gave her no win.
She no longer liked him and did now invoke
that their romance was totally broke.

Wonderful verses, everyone, thank you so much!
Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday, and I look forward to our blog visit tomorrow.

Ah, Misty. You give us a broken romance today (unusual for you). But Iris was wise to cut her losses and end it.
