Sign-Off

If I’m ever gonna skip Sunday’s verse
it’ll be when I’ve no time to rehearse.
But this week I’m ready
to continue my thready.
Though I admit—this one’s kinda terse.

Most worlds we've found have been too large,
Orbs of gas, where no life could emerge.
So how ironic is it
Should be the first world we visit:
Yon Moon, from which all gas has discharged.

"Garden Gift"

Patty used her purchasing power
to enliven her garden
with a festive flower
that she did drench
with a daily shower.

She than took time to ponder
how she'd proceed going yonder.
This required her to make a vow
that she'd spend little more money, anyhow,
on a puppet or a new hairdo
or a siding of candy to chew.

But these worries did in no way annoy:
she had a lovely garden to enjoy.
