Today’s Jumble haiku:

In retirement, he…)

It was so hot, swamp coolers threatened to explode.
No one was abroad, 'cept a cur lying by the road.
The sun was blazing down,
Heating coils all over town!
Hot Springs got it's name from that episode!

WC- great W clue today.
OMK rhymes it for Misty.
Owen hides it (spellingwise but not sound wise) in line two.

On to the J solve.

A serious poem may close with a hilarious ending when the Muses become comical.

Punch(line) Edit

Different standards of beauty abound.
Expand your view from those around;
Scout out the works of artists of note;
Creating sculptures of marble or clay.
Hairy and curly may be the fashion of the day.

OMK- it took me a minute to find the E word - inverted. Clever.

"Artistic Scout"

The scout had little doubt
and refused to worry or pout.
He planned his art to expand,
hoping to increase demand.

He planned to sculpt some new figures
that would generate more triggers.
He even made them look hairy
which made them feel a bit scary.

All this his reputation punched,
and his artistic income bunched.

Many thanks once again, Ol' Man Keith, your hint once again gave me the accurate Wordle solution:

Mine is a little straighter than this.

I see that I am bringing up the rear at Wordle today. But now we have plenty of clues for any other readers - bravo Misty for your clue too.

Misty- those hairy, scary (and even curly in my poem) sculptures will probably not have a great appeal to buyers (although you never know what people may buy). Hopefully your artist (no name today?) will regain his reputation and income with some more saleable creations.

OMK, thanks again for your complex haiku and fun poem with the Wordle gift.

Owen, your verse is a brilliant comment on much of the weather around the country today.
Let's hope it starts cooling down soon in the areas that are just roasting.

CanadianEh!, loved your delightful poem with all the J words and solution beautifully worked in. And thank you for all your kind comments, especially given that you're right: "hairy" works better in poems or paintings than in sculptures, doesn't it? But when you decide to work with the J words, you get the challenge of figuring out how to put "hairy" and "sculpt" together. So I too hope my artist figures it out, and keeps his reputation.

Wilbur, always delighted to have you check in. Did your Wordle play with harry and larry but not moe?

Sorry to be late signing back on.

Give The Fiber Studio a check
if you’d like to real hair inspect…
There are several sculptors working there
whose main medium is human hair!
