"Cleaning"
Fred lived in a place of filth
which gave him a feeling of guilt.
He had already tried very often
the mess in his home to soften.
It was time to get a fix,
a job that would need some tricks.
One day he managed to hear
an elixir in his ear.
He started playing a guitar
and soon became a star.
This allowed him to clean his filth
and he no longer has any guilt.

C-eh, what to do about the pesky I. Was your #2 BINGO?
Quite an imagination, Misty!
An aural elixir that leads to a musical career that lets Fred afford to clean his house!
Nothing short of terrific!!
Brava!

Your haiku gave me quite an adventure this morning, Ol' Man Keith. I looked up "Elixir of Love" and found it was indeed an opera by Donizetti, with an aria titled "Una furta lacrima," once sung by Pavarotti. Listened to it on U-Tube and it was gorgeous! Thank you for prompting me on to this adventurous journey, OMK!
Any chance of getting a Chet and Lois poem from you today, Wilbur? I always enjoy your art!
Yes, that is a lovely aria, Misty.
You should have heard Franco Corelli back in his prime. Unfortunately, his recordings are bad.
Speaking of old recordings, listen to Caruso's version of this, all on YouTube.
Although the sound is limited, the balance of orchestra and voice is very good, and you can easily make out his vocal genius.

WC- my #2 was Singe. LOL re clotrimazole!
Misty - thanks for the back story info on OMKโs haiku. Makes it even better.
I love how your Fred remedies his filth problem.
Chet and Lois loved music whether it was banjo or guitar
They often went out Friday night to a cute little coffee bar
"No filth in this place, Chet, unlike that seedy place last year"
"It was indeed a rarity that you found me as if a diety visited there."
"The lattes they serve are like an elixir, Chet, I feel no stress in here"
"Let me state to you my pretty bird," said Chet, "No need for a sonnet
That wherever and whenever I'm out with you I'm fixed on it.
"From the first night I laid eyes on you I knew we'd be a pair."

Along with Thursday I've used today's Jumble. Misty, can you find the Friday J's and riddle-solution?
