What a relief!—to see only one date for today!

Keith, that's quite a story. MLB which became known for its steroid era (80s,90s...) also had its "greenie" era(70s).

Another substance I've personally come to see in its addictiveness and personality changing nature is sugar. Possibly similar to the sugars contained in hard alcohol(without making one tipsy)

The ultimate irony is the profound, positive change those who have recovered through "painstakingly " applying 12 Step principles have undergone.

Whereas, people with similar problems never do change for the better because they never got addicted.

As the Book says "Only under the 'lash of alcohol' do they apply themselves sufficiently to produce the change"

"Peculiar Pet"

The newly hired author worked duly
on stories never unkind or unruly.
She acquired a koala that was skinny
and made sounds that were soft and tinny
and she got him to comfortably settle
in a closure that was made of metal.
Writing a piece about this pet in his prime
earned her generous praise, big-time.

Quality Thyme

Give me the skinny!
Heavy metal music
Or a newly published author?
What’s your preference?

OMK- I always wait to read everyone else’s offerings until I have composed mine.
Amazing how our brains went in similar musical directions today. I love how you personalized the author.
And our titles . . . ,

Misty took the literal route with that cute koala that her author acquired. I liked the metal closure, rather than a pen. Lucky pet.
I hope she earned some big-time money as well as praise.

Sorry I never got back to repost yesterday. By evening, “all my get-up and go had got-up and went”.

Misty ~ How lucky your author is to have a koala for a pet. But I’m sure she recognizes that a skinny one may be too soon out of the pouch! Time to fatten that li’l guy up—to be sure he’s enjoying his “prime”!

CEh! ~ Very nice of you to offer options to your readers! That is most polite of you (not to say Canadian!).

I would go with the new author any time, as metal is not my real choice in music. When I was truly the “skinny kid,” it was much earlier than the release of “Black Sabbath.”

And I loved how once again you worked all those complicated Jumble Words into you neat verse, Ol' Man Keith, thank you for that too. And your Wordle hint was another gift, and helped me get it:

And thank you for the kind comment.

Misty, I usually leave an obscure hint. Today, two.
PARS(LEY)ing and SAG(E)acity. I skipped Rosemary.

C-eh had the same idea with Scarborough Fair.

I too take a word like Koala and parse it. fe. FLN I had Chet say ",to choose' for TWO CHEWS.

Also, I like to combine two days so I'll try to post a new C&L later tonight with Wed and Thurs J's and riddle-solutions.

I thought trying to find , say, a Wednesday J before seeing the jumbled version, might have entertainment value.

Plus, for Misty who likes to spot the J's you've got 10 to work with
