FLN, WC ~ Enjoyed reading your travel report & your reflections on the royal demise.
Archie neednโt be troubled, methinks, about an imminent succession, as I believe he is only #6 in the new order.
As for the septuagenarian monarchโs bride, I understand there is a high degree of acceptance of the new Queen consort by the public.
(I know, I know; it surprises me, too!)
I donโt expect him to make all the changes detailed in Mike Bartlettโs drama, King Charles III, but he may do some pretty progressive things.
We shall see.

I missed the second word of the riddle-solution as I had POSIE on #2
Misty wanted a tale of my long ride-it takes 25 minutes to reach Ocala and the an hour+ to get to Orlando
The rain and the news from England were the "highlights "
Camilla being the 'other woman' prompting the divorce and subsequent death(murder?) of Princess Diane had to leave a sour taste.
But 25 years is a long time

Martin's musical skills were imposing,
both in playing and composing.
His smile had a lovely gloss
thanks to his daily floss.
He was a big fan of Madonna
and once offered her an iguana.
He grimly wants to insure
his role as a musical figure.
Playing against much outdoor noise
he works hard to maintain his poise.
Now he happily just received a request
to compose a song for Oktoberfest.
My goodness, Misty, Martin takes a strangely โgrimโ attitude towards his opportunity to compose and play music.
Maybe a successful Oktoberfest piece will cheer himโand his listenersโupโฆ
Letโs all dance the โMartin-Polkaโ!

A great way to start my afternoon after my nap. Thank you also for the kind response to my verse. So sorry that your little iguana had too much pain for a successful dance.
Well, I was shaken by the news about the death of Queen Elizabeth on television last night.
Only I was pleased by one of the young people in the royal family reporting that they were comfortable with having Camilla as the new queen (as the wife of the King is called, I gather).
My own hope is that the new monarchy will lead as peacefully and thoughtfully and with as much care as the previous one.
Thank you for letting me know the Florida distances, Wilbur. It's been a half century or more since I've last been there, I guess.
Hope we hear from Owen and from CanadianEh! I miss them.
I wonder why Camilla will get to be the Queen (Queen Consort, technically), but Elizabeth's Philip was still just a Prince?
At first glance, it would seem to give the ladies more status.
But then, it just may be a hold-over of their second class standing--
that Elizabeth's aura wasn't strong enough to convert her consort to a full King, whereas her son, Charles, can spread his masculine wings to elevate his wife.
In that context, it is nice to reflect that while Elizabeth was just a Windsor, Philip's family name, Mountbatten, identifies his son Charles, and his heirs, William and Harry.
Strange, isn't it--these "royals."
