Enjoy your
LABOR DAY!

Today’s Jumble ~ Two haiku,
with all the J-Words in number 2:

Win the Snarks*!

It was a promise
made with all Mac’s heart—an oath
not lightly uttered.

But his temp’rance vow
was swiftly broken; thank the
tavern’s silky Scotch!

"Gentle Gift"

Tammy worked in a tavern
located in a cavern.
Her engagement had been broken,
but a co-worker gave her a token:
a light scarf that was smooth and silky
and white, which made it look milky.
Of all she enjoyed at her work,
this was Tammy's nicest perk.
And the result of this lovely gift
was a new romance, light and swift.

I noticed SEEDY was used in today's xword.

I wonder if the "tavern in the cavern" was seedy.

Where did my verse go? I have been censored - was it the seedy tavern? I’ll try to post it again

I hope to see your verse soon, CEh!

Isn’t it remarkable, Misty, what a small offering can achieve?
Your poem was a happy gift this morning.

The drink went down with a silky finish,
But a swift change was in the works.
With a whoop and a holler,
The inebriated man* created a mess of broken glass
And was esco-rted from the tavern.

*not Chet we hope!

LOL! I guessed rightly that it was the esc—-ort at that seedy tavern that was tripping the censor button and deleting my post.

Well, it took me four tries to finally get the Wordle, and then only with the help of your clue, Ol' Man Keith. So here it is:

Nice to join you this morning, Wilbur and CanadianEh!.

Loved the way you worked all the J-words into you morning verse, --very clever and complex at the same time. And thank you for enjoying my verse.

Sorry your tippler broke his glass and got in trouble this morning, CanadianEh!. I'm sure it wasn't Chet--he'd be too careful to have that happen.

So, Wilbur, what is going on with Chet and Lois these days? Tell them we wish them a happy Labor Day!

Ol' Man Keith said...

CanadianEh! ~ I see we both understood "silky" the same way.
Yes, I reckon that's how my Mac ended up--being escorted out.
A sad tale.

But what I don't understand is how that word, "escorted," with or without a hyphen, earned you a censorship.
Did it have anything to do with the "esc" key?
Help me out--if you can.

OMK- I had an inkling that esc—orted might trigger thoughts of the S-x trade in the mind of the censor robot that monitors these blogs to keep them family friendly and in the General Audience rating. It doesn’t seem to take much to trigger a deletion.
I had posted a note to WC about his Misty style WooHoo, but it has disappeared also. I am really in the bad books of the censor today LOL!

Sorry I forgot to address you in my first comment in my 12:23PM posting today, Ol' Man Keith. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the J-words in your morning verse.

Sorry to hear about your censorship problem, CanadianEh!. We always enjoy your posts.

Wilbur, I'm flattered that you're giving me the "woohoo" credit!
