FLN, WC ~ Your hints for Wordle 452 were truly clever.
Still, they would have flown over my old head, so I appreciate your breaking them down.

Today’s Jumble haiku:
These J-words clearly point in one direction, toward royal history—
& perhaps to the stolen English throne of Henry IV…

“(Shakespeare) In Charge

That grouchy tyrant,
who usurped his crown, was the
prime target of coups.

[It's Lois turn to speak]

Hi, my name is Lois and I'm an alcoholic. That's the skinny, this my story
It's not about a prom queen newly crowned in all her glory
For the truth is there was no Lois in her prime, Lois the gal in charge
For I was raised in chaos: a grouchy, booze-
crazed dad by and large

And a mother lost in the world of drugs: a tyrant one day a dipso the next.
Very little quality time spent with quality parents that bothered
Out of the house at an early age, strange bedfellows many authors
Heavy metal , louder bikes, beatings from boyfriends with little pretext
[To be continued]

The Prime Minister's announcement jars;
belov'd Queen Elizabeth is dead.
Soon her son, the new King Charles
Will wear the crown upon his head.

Will the new order change things?
Will there be a tyrant on the throne?
Charles has waited decades for king.
What kind he will be? Shortly to be known.

Now that he's in charge, what will change?
Will he rule most kindly, like his Mam?
Will he be a grouch? Will he show disdain?
Will he be icy, or an open, friendly man?

Those are questions we need to know,
That the next few days should show.

Tyrant in Charge

The tantrums are at a prime,
His mother would like to crown him,
Or maybe just disown him.
There is no doubt, he is a grouch,
Whining and yelling on the couch.

Terrible Twos- life’s worst time?

Yes WC, that Wordle was a head scratcher.

OMK and Owen- amazing how today’s J words leant themselves to a Royal theme. I deliberately took an alternate route.
(And yes, the world waits to see how Charles will reign.)

WC- such a sad story of Lois’ life. Hoping for better things for her, with Chet’s love.

"Regal Ruler"

The princess was in her prime,
ready to rule any time.
She did not a second frown
when she inherited the crown.
To her citizens she did vouch
to never over problems grouch.
She was incapable of any stunt
that would make her a tyrant.
Her generosity was large,
a queen, kindly in charge.

Woohoo! Thank you, thank you OMK, for your helpful clue just now. I thought I had it, and I did--on my first try:

Wordle 453 1/6

🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Makes my morning feel a lot better.

Enjoyed your haiku, thank you for that delight as well. We just can't get away from thinking about the loss of the Queen and the changes in the English monarchy at this time, can we?
So even the Jumble pointed us in that direction this morning, and then influenced all of our verses.

My goodness, Wilbur, what a sad beginning to Lois's story. I wasn't quite expecting that and look forward to how it continues. Thank goodness things will be better, (I hope) by the time she meets with Chet.

Wonderful verse about our thoughts and worry over the loss of the Queen, Owen. Beautifully put together, many thanks for that gift this morning.

Your verse about that grouch--ending up as a cranky two-year old--cracked me up and made me laugh, CanadianEh!. A perfect treat on this morning.

Well, along with OMK's contribution, you all contributed to making this a great start to the day. Cheers!

Wilbur ~ Lois wisely gets out ahead of fiction-inspired expectations that an alcohol-impaired femme may have a glamorous life of wild flings and a devil-may-care existence.
More likely, using her own example, all is dreary, boozed & bruised.

Owen focuses us on a major event of the day, the accession to the throne of King Charles upon the death of his mum.
What will the new reign be like? Will he save the monarchy?
I can’t help but suspect that the new/old king will be inspired by Mike Bartlett’s popular play, on stage and also televised in Britain, that proposes Charles will be a surprisingly liberal “ruler.”
I say surprisingly because the man has a history of conservative taste and values, plus the plummiest old-fashioned style of speaking!
We shall see…

While there may have been several British kings who had tyrannical tempers, I couldn’t help but return to old Bolingbroke (Henry IV) as the only real tyrant.

But CEh! reminds us of a different kind of tyrant—real and regal in their own way—our very own Princes & Princesses of Wails! Yes, indeed, there were tantrums at times when we might suppose the line of succession was about to end!
But, then, after the tears were dried… and a bedtime story… all would be well again in the land.

Misty‘s ode is a feeling tribute to “Lilybet,” the Queen whose regal presence loomed large over a major part of the western world.
Yes, she was prepared, “ready to rule,” even though her father came to the throne unexpectedly. But even from childhood she embraced the ideal of service that has come to define modern royals.
Her lifelong example may be the strongest factor in saving the “Crown” as a legitimate form of liberal democracy, the “Constitutional Monarchy.”
