"Ups and Downs"
After Sally's brilliant sonata
her career became even hotter.
Her agent really lucked her
by getting the academy to induct her.
Dozens of shots from the newspaper camera
did her prominence even better hammer.
She was constantly on the telly
but slowly her fame became smelly,
and soon silent treatment was bent
on bringing her career to an end.
Sally might have felt really bitten,
but, hey, she just moved to Great Britain
and got married and adopted a kitten.
Good work OMK! You had a great starter word.

The Next Morning
Her head hammered,
Her bitten tongue stammered.
A sonata of regret played through her mind
She needed treatment,
But longed for silence.
Would she admit her lack of defence
And be inducted into AA?
I felt that I had to give my poor She from yesterday a stab at repentance. We shall see what tomorrow’s words bring for her.
Misty- poor Sally certainly did have her ups and downs. Hopefully she is happy in Great Britain with her spouse and kitten.
OMK- have a relaxing day.
Totally off topic one-time-only post:
For anyone even remotely interested in tennis, the World team won the Laver Cup today, 13 to 8, for the first time ever in the tournament's six-year existence. The Europe team had a diverse representation with only one player from each of seven countries (including Federer's last ever competitive match), while the World team had four from the U.S. and one each from Canada, Argentina, and Australia. Really exciting three days for tennis fans.
Loved your Sunday verse, Ol' Man Keith--not a haiku, but very delightful. And congratulations on your brief Wordle. I tried and tried but it never worked for me this morning.
I hope your poor girl gets some help from AA, CanadianEh!. Maybe you can refer her to Wilbur's Lois, who has herself already gone through this whole process.
Have a great Sunday, everybody!
