The toddler was sleepy, no doubt about it.
His toys were strewn around the floor.
But lay him down, he had a fit,
Even though he loved his bedroom decor!
He was feisty, for such a small child.
The ceiling fan mobile of circus things that
Should pacify him, today they made him wild!
He was a lion, a tiger, and every big cat!
Had he a reason, a motive to his act?
He wouldn't have known, or realized
He was reliving a past life, as a wildcat!
The mobile above brought memories to energize!
Life, when older, forbids a look thru the veil,
To see us as protozoa, or felines with a tail.
Good to see Owen again. Especially on Sunday, when I’m taking my rest.
And using a scheme I admire—
alternating rhymes ABAB, until the concluding couplet AA.
This always endows the final words with a bang.
This theme appeals to me as well.
I have always thought it makes no difference whether one believes in reincarnation or not. We are denied clear memory of former lives, “forbid[den] a look thru the veil”—so it works exactly the same, true or not.
And you know there will be others in future very much like ourselves, in any case.
We live as a species, not just in a single ego.
(Forgive me, Owen, I just don’t feel the same about other mammals!)

"Romance Recovery"
Losing her partner made Patty weep
and lose many sad nights of sleep.
Her friends did their best to pacify
and give her a motive again to try.
Nothing forbids her to make plans,
and she has the support of all of her fans.
She should find a new friend which she did in June
and now her spirits are strewn over the moon.
Her new partner is kind and handsome and tall
which made him quickly beloved by all.
For a year the new couple thoughtfully tarried,
and now Patty at last is happily married.
I rec'd the strangest email this morning, from somebody calling him- or herself "The Blogger Team."
It said "We have re-evaluated the post [of this date] against Community Guidelines. Upon review, the post has been reinstated. ..."
I was unaware that either of my posts today--which are published above--had been censored.
For readers who may wonder what sort of content may offend the "Team," even temporarily, take a look at my posts of 2:23 am and 2:32 am.
I know, I know. I can't figure it out either. Seems to me somebody's blue-pencil is a little too... er, sensitive.

When I tried to post at 12:30 this morning, the day wasn't here. Someone had reported us for violating community standards again , between 12 and 12:30. I sent in for review, and a complaint about being hassled.
Looking back through my un-read emails (I don't always check those that come to my non-personal--i.e., assigned by Google--email), I find two from August 28. The first says my post of that date had been "unpublished," while the second says it had been "reinstated."
The only similarity between these and today's message (above) is that both occur on Sundays when I was saying that I was taking the day off.
"The Blogger Team" was kind enough to send me the link to their Community Guidelines. Of course, nothing in the content of my messages on either day was contrary to those Guidelines.
What I did not notice was any information about WHO gets to do their censoring, or what kind of watchdog protocols are in place.
I appreciate their attempt to prevent vile content & misinformation from circulating, but it is an awesome responsibility.
I wonder how anyone, or what panel of people, can keep up with the burden in other than a haphazard manner.

Meanwhile, we mustn't neglect fresh contributions. Each gift to the page we share deserves acknowledgement.
In addition to Owen's intriguing & thoughtful poem, we have Misty's romantic stanzas.
It is always nice to see how life goes on after a great sorrow.
Patty's lost sleep and grief is balanced, soothed, in finding her new friend. I loved the description of "her spirits... strewn over the moon."
Weeping Patty becomes happy Patty in due course, and Misty tells it well.

Thank you for your very kind comment on my verse, Ol' Man Keith, much appreciated. And congratulations on your successful Wordle. I tried doing one without one of your helpful hints this morning, and sadly gave up after five or six tries. I hope you'll be willing to give me your wonderful occasional hints again this week. They make my day!
Loved your poem about the toddler and his ceiling fan, Owen--unusual and funny and delightful, a great way to start our Sunday.
Have a great evening, everybody. I look forward to watching the hour-and-a-half Sunday "Perry Mason."
