I usually do it late so perhaps folk just wait. I thought it might be interesting.

Yes, I noticed that you included them all in Chet & Loisโ visit to the UN-seedy coffee-cum-music dispensary. Did your question aim any deeper? I thought the stanzas delightful, and clever in your embedding of the solutions.

To explain further, I thought it would be interesting to pick out J's and riddle-solution before seeing the jumbled words

You are kind, WC, but GUISE wasn't one of my guesses.
I should have had it, because three of the necessary letters were givens, no work involved.
No, wait! Strike that! Your 2nd word could not have been GUISE. Go back and check your entries.
It is no secret now that the answer is GULLY, but with GUISE you are claiming an "S" where the green on your diagram requires an "L."
Please check again, and let us know which was your penultimate word.
As for your Thursday/Friday words, I did not look for them before the Friday Jumble was posted. Sorry.

Thanks for clarifying abt GUILE, Wilbur.
I often check after 9am PDT to see who has logged on. But I mainly do my Jumble posting in the wee hours, after midnight or around 1am PDT, when I can see the Jumble on the LA Times digital site.
When I read yours and Mistyโs poems, I honestly donโt read them for the J-wordsโnot at first anyway. Iโll go back later on, sometimes, if I have time, to see if thereโs any particularly interesting usage.
Do I understand correctly, that you would like feedback on your use of J-words when you post them early?
