My guess is the cartoon dialogue is meant to clue us that these new "stars" are not amateurs. If previous seasons disappointed fans, then the expectation is that these veteran players will take the club farther than the last go-'round. I wonder why the artist chose to show male players. Why not go with some real winners--the Ladies?!

Just lost my post, internet dropped me . I'm using docs which is my CC method.
Four easy J's today. I had trouble locating #2 on the riddle. I had nine letters. Nothing profound in the answer, the two could've been the relief pitchers the Redsox need so badly.
When I moved from City to suburbs the kids were playing a new game. I liked it and one day headed a goal. "No, that's cheating" was the response.
At that point I saw very little hope for Soccer . And I was right. The game could not exist next to football and hockey. Possibly why the women are so successful.

The clues were pretty easy, and with all the letters in hand,so was the solution. Kind of a cute pun.
I hope Owen is ok. No poems on the Corner or here, so, even though he posted the jumble itself, I am worried.
