California's had an earthquake, oh my golly no!
The floor was roughly shaking to and fro!
Out the window trees are dancing Macarena!
California's California --
The game goes on in the arena!

Stromboli blew its head off, suicidal peak!
Blasted out a cloud to the middle of next week!
It was fitted out with sensors don't you know.
Italians are Italians --
They just go with the lava flow!

Cyclones are a-popping, hurricanes round the globe,
Climate change is showing on scientific probes.
Satellites are fitted with fancy instruments.
But deniers are deniers --
Rejecting logical evidence!

The North Magnetic Pole has started going nuts.
It's making figure eights, double doughnuts!
We're expecting any day it will do a wheelie!
A planet is a a planet --
We're just riders on it, really!

Really cool poem, Owen, with a sweet ending-- reminding us of our ride-along status.
(Have we all paid our fares? "Tickets, please!")
Even though this is a Saturday jumble, the solution was easier even than yesterday's. The poem provides it if anybody needs the boost. I'm sure today you're all among those in the know!

I agree, not hard at all. I used my Boston College alumni magazine to jot down the letters. The four J's went bing, bing, bing in a row.

Seconds later there was the solution.

The magazine, according to Owen's cosmic prescience guide is all about the environment and the effort BC is making to combat the flow of global pollution.

I've been away and am three xwords behind.

Agreed. This one was really easy.

The poem is too real. That 7.1 -- I felt it in Seal Beach, family felt it in Tahoe and on Catalina. Yes, we are just riders on the planet, Owen, I so agree. Let's hope we don't 'fall off'.

Delightful Saturday Jumble. I got all four words without any problem and the solution just poured right out. Then had the pleasure of finding all the words in Owen's poem, along with the solution. I attended a wonderful Pageant of the Masters performance in downtown Laguna Beach last night, where you sit outdoors and watch actors hold still to enact paintings on the stage. Never felt the earthquake, except a tiny bump, although I gather people in their homes felt it far more strongly. Hope there won't be many more and that people stay safe and uninjured.

Have a good weekend, everybody.
